Week 48 - San Martin de los Andes

Okay, this week! Where do i begin?

I love the memebers here. Their incredible. We had a ton of appointments this week and ALL of them fell through haha we had members planned to go with us and everything and we just ended up visiting the less actives instead with the members haha but that's okay! Onward and upward becaaaauuussseee....

QUIQUE got baptized!!! He's SO ready!

He was crying during the baptism, after, during the talks, on sunday. Everything.
He didnt understand the baptism thing very well because of his memory problem, but he looked at the font and said, "theyre gonna bathe me!" haha He's ready because he knows this is the truth and believes with more faith than any other person I've met and is VERY infuenced by angels. Only God could have changed his life like he did.

Oh, did I tell you, Im the haircutter of the mission. I've officallyl cut the hair of like 4 missionaries. I cut Hermana Coman's hair this week and taught her how to wash her hair.

Now I'm with Hermana Correa. She was in Esquel when we did exchanges there with Hermana Jarvis (forever ago) and she was there when I was in Trevelin. Her and Hermana Coman switched places. She's a good missionary! She's been out for 8 months in the mission and is from Tucuman, Argentina.

I think I have lice. I have officially picked out three eggs as I'm sitting here. I'm gonna cry and puke. And kill Hermana Coman cause thats the ONLY way I could have gotten it. And change my bed. And just cry.  I really really would like to burn the place down, but the new carpet guys are coming tomorrow... on second thought... perfect opportunity!  Im going to buy all that stuff and 'Ill have to use my personal money for that because I had to use my money to buy sister Coman's food AGAIN!!! i dont know where she puts her money!

How are you these days?
GOOD!
How's the tummy?
TERRIBLE: Its getting worse and worse. Im going to the doctor this week
How's the area?
Good!
The companionship?
Good! So far
The companion?
Hermana Correa!
Investigators?
Madelen says itll be THREE MONTHS before they can do the paperwork to get married... UGG
Language?  Fue and era?
Fui al hospital cuando yo ere una nena???? I still struggle a bit with that too.
Favorite ward members?
Ummmmm.... do I have to choose? I think the Anfuso family. they're fabulous.
Funniest moment?
I SAW HERMANA BROWN YESTERDAY! god decided to bless us with another few precious moments in the bus station of Bariloche. Pictures included. Note in the picture, the little cracker box... This was just 2 hours before I puked in that very box while in the bus. Everyone in the bus helped me, gave me baby wipes, hand sanatized, water. While Hermana Correa, said, hmmm so you dont feel good huh? And then talked about something else. Im like... can't you see Im SICK!? I just puked! Anyways. It was a good experience. Im glad I had bought the crackers! So I could empty the box by eatting them and fill it up by puking them out. Good times.
Sad?
Puke.
Happy?
QUIQUE! His real name is Mario...
What was a miracle?
Quique got baptized! Even though the ward almost just did not support him. There were 5 people in his baptism and some missionaries.
How's your sleep?
Bad since I found out about transfers.
How is the condition of your shoes?
Ya know, I kind of only like 2 pairs right now. The other ones are too stretched out, or the strap is kind of broken, or theyre too tight. Im good though! I have more than half the other missionaries.
What do you miss about the states?
The food. Im SO sick of oil and grease and fat. I cant eat it anymore. I get sick.

Love, Hermana Sant

Week 47 - San Martin de los Andes

This week
Well, we went to Bariloche for a few days. Like one and half but it took out SO much time from our area! I hate leaving the area.

I loved exchanges. Its still Jarvis and Ventura. I was with Jarvis... of course:) I also saw Banuera. I took a picture with three of my 5 companions:) LOVE THEM!

Jarvis is having feet problem so my exchanges was acompanying her to the doctor. we talked A LOT while waiting and waiting and waiting haha

Rocio, the ex jehovah's witness is a star! She loves the church:)

Quique SHOULD get baptized this week, but because of his memory problem, we might have to postpone it.

Madelen was up ALL saturday night puking. she said she couldnt go and surprised us by showing up during the second class in time for sacrament:)

What's your mold status?
Its pretty good. weve thrown almost all of the moldy stuff away and bleahc is my best friend.

How are things with your companion?
Its good. Did you klnow mermaids exist? She saw a video of it once. I broke her poor heart. I told her theyre not real and she said, "well, YEAH! they arent here in argentina. They're near Australia!!"  Im teaching her english and that occupies a lot of our time.

What's new in San Martin de los Andes?
Well, tourist season is coming to a close, so MORE PEOPLE IN CHURCH! YAY!
OH YEAH! The panorama I sent, its a picture of our whole area. Thats all of it! haha

Do you have buns of steel from all the hiking and stairs? Yes.
Will I sprain my fingers when I see you again and try to pinch that bootie?
Yes.

Do most people walk or are there taxis and buses that also drive up those mountains? They walk. There isn't really another way to get up the mountain cause the only way to get there is stairs. you can only pray one of the houses doesn't catch on fire. there are public buses, but only for trips to the other little cities or naighborhoods outside of our area.

Does Argentina have any sort of government assistance like food stamps or welfare or medical? I don't know many people that aren't dependent on the government here in some way with that.

What this week was
sad?Cant think of anything
happy? life. Madelen getting to church:)
funny? MERMAIDS
challenging? eplaining mermaids. but also, getting people ready for baptism without time in your area.

I LOVE YOU ALL! the church is true and Jesus loves us.

Hermana Sant

Week 46 - San Martin de los Andes

So, we're going through the apartment little by little. Its horrifying. Today, we did our bedroom. It was the worst so far. SO many spiders and SO much mold in the carpet. We reorganized so that we can see the moldy spots now (theyre not under beds or anything) and we'll be spraying bleach there too. We a hope to take out the carpet soon (thats what hermana casariego says we've gotta do) WARNING RACHEL: LOTS OF SPIDER WEBS IN PICTURES:
Okay, so one of the pictures is of the stairs here. There are So many houses in the mountain and there arent streets up there. We climb thin, scary stairs right up the mountain to get to investigators haha We were always curious how people built their houses ALL the way up there... until we served a lady in the street and helped her haul buckets of rocks and dirt and materials for houses up the mountain. Super fun. I still feel my muscles aching haha

What is your favorite thing about being a missionary?
I think its seeing the changes in peoples livs. We find people in so many different walks of life and love seeing how their lives can change and imrove with the atonemenet in their lives. I love it.

How is your companion?
Shes good. She loves bbeetles. No not the band. The bugs. We'll be walking, shell stop and saw "AWWWWW!!!! LOOK!"

How is your companionship?
It's good. Ive found that if I sing high school musical all the time, we get along better. Its something we can do together.

How is your area?
Really good. MIRACLES
How are your investigators?
GOOD! Quique turns out USED to be alcoholic, but left alcohol 3 years ago by himself!!! MIRACLE. Madelen.... still has troubles with wanting to be married. We are going to be direct with her this week

There was a girl that stopped us on the street like my second day here. Told us shes ex-jehovah's witness and that shes been investigating the hcurch for years. She asked for the church address and said when she moves here, shell go to church. SHE CAME OT CHURCH YESTERDAY! she's super ready:)

Also, yesterday we found a girl in the street and she was like, I dont listen to people from churches because I dont believe in the bible completely. Its touched too many hands that arent prophets. We taught her about the apostacy and the book of mormon and she was like, "THIS is what they took out of the bible????? I want it!!!" MIRACLE.
